601 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.\n\nMatthew 3:11
602 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.\n\nMatthew 1:18
603 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.\n\nMatthew 1:19
604 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:
605 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.\n\nMatthew 1:21
606 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
607 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.\n\nMatthew 1:24-25
608 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.\n\nLuke 2:1
609 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David)\n\nLuke 2:4
610 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.\n\nLuke 2:5
611 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
612 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.\n\nLuke 2:8
613 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.\n\nLuke 2:9
614 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.\n\nLuke 2:10-11
615 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.\n\nLuke 2:12
616 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.\n\nLuke 2:13-14
617 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem,
618 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.\n\nLuke 2:16
619 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.\n\nLuke 2:17-18
620 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.\n\nLuke 2:20
621 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born
622 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
623 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures,
624 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.\n\nJohn 3:16
629 for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.\n\nMatthew 1:20
631 and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.\n\nMatthew 1:22-23

702 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.\n\nMatthew 1:18
703 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.\n\nMatthew 1:19
704 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David,
705 "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."\n\nMatthew 1:21
706 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
707 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.\n\nMatthew 1:24-25
708 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.\n\nLuke 2:1
709 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.\n\nLuke 2:4
710 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.\n\nLuke 2:5
711 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.\n\nLuke 2:6-7
712 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.\n\nLuke 2:8
713 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shown around them, and they were terrified.\n\nLuke 2:9
714 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."\n\nLuke 2:10-11
715 "This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."\n\nLuke 2:12
716 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."\n\nLuke 2:13-14
717 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."\n\nLuke 2:15
718 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.\n\nLuke 2:16
719 When they had seen him, they they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.\n\nLuke 2:17-18
720 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.\n\nLuke 2:20
721 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?
722 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.
723 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.\n\nMatthew 2:11
724 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\n\nJohn 3:16
729 do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."\n\nMatthew 1:20
731 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."\n\nMatthew 1:22-23
